Error at installation of Fomod in NMM

Post by Piers Arkan » Sat Dec 28, 2013 3:09 pm

Hello folks, I just got Fallout 3 GOTY just so I can try this out, and after a rather lengthy process of building all the stuff necessary, I get to Nexus Mod manager and the installer gives this issue:

"object '/3c43c9af_895b_438e_a57c_f45b73cdc1c2/l1ay0cypxo5cwn7wnxf5xgh9_6.rem' has been disconnected or does not exist at the server. the mod was not installed."

Before I try anything else, I want to touch bases with you guys and see what you think is up. My Nexus mod manager is in 0.45.6 and runnning offline as I cant seem to be able to contact their server. I am running an AMD-A8 4500m with 4GB of Ram(3.47 usable) in a windows 8.1, it is 64 bit. My load order has the Couriers Stash before the Other 4 New Vegas DLC, Then the Gun Runner's Arsenal, in addition to a single graphical mod that enhances the look of Joshua Graham.

Included is my Installation log for TTW.

I just updated Nexus Mod Manager, and was able to connect to the server, but upon re-attempting to install, I got a similar error with a different set of numbers and letters that were disconnected or do not exist.

Alright, so I guess I could possibly ask the question of if we can tell the installer to recompress and remake just the sound / voice bsa if that's possible. Is it?

If you search the site, or the larger interwebs, there are many people with this error.  It is a common NMM problem.

It is caused by NMM timing out while installing a large mod.  It happens with slower-CPU computers, and computers with low ram, and computers with slow hard drives, and computers with 32-bit operating systems.

If you get this error, you've got to do a manual install, or try installing with a large-address aware FOMM (as described on the download page, assuming you meet the requirements) or try installing with Mod Organizer.

Also, I just merged the two threads on this problem together.

In another thread here on the forums, other people have discussed a similar issue that seems to revolve around NMM, a small amount of RAM, and appears to be fixed either by installing the mod manually, or by using Fallout Mod Manager. Apparently there is also a Large Address Aware version of FOMM somewhere.
