When going from DC to NV for first time all tag skill points are removed.

Post by Jaydog » Tue Nov 11, 2014 4:28 am

When I went to Nevada for the first time and went through the opening I lose 15 skill points in my three tagged skills.  Happened on two different saved games.  Just reporting I'll add them with a console command to fix.

Sorry I wasn't asking for help and am on a different computer now.  I was just curious if it was happening to other people.

If you at least post a load order we might be able to point out any issues. That shouldn't be happening and doesn't happen to me when I travel so it is likely that a mod is messing with the NV start quest and overriding the changes TTW makes.

On a low end Pc I'll post my specs if you think it will help.  I would guess it has to do with the merged More perks and traits esm.  I went through Doc mich's house a few times and noticed it's only taking away 15 points from 2 tag skills and it changed wich ones each time I went through.  I messed with the More perks esm's load order a few times but didn't help.  If it's a mod conflict do you think it will cause more problems down the road?

Awesome mod by the way this is my second time installing it.

Doc shouldn't even do any char gen

He should give you a reflectron so you can change your face, lead you over and make you activate the Vigortester, but the Vigortester doesn't actually do anything, he then takes the long way to the front door and gives you your stuff and sees you out. No sitting on the couch and picking traits/tags.

If that isn't what you are seeing happen, then a mod is interfering with the NV start. FNVEdit can help you narrow down which mod, but it takes some doing.

All of it happens like you

All of it happens like you said but he goes through the questions he would have asked on the couch at the door (tell him the first word that pop in your head when you hear...) and the ones about the pictures but I don't see the pictures; but the tag skill menu or trait menu don't pop up.

That is exactly what is not supposed to happen in TTW, like Jax said all the Doc does is give you the thing to change your face, then ask you to use the Vigor testing machine which you only have to activate and nothing happens (no distribute points to your attributes) then the Doc is supposed to walk to the door and have the little chat before you leave and that is it. I went to NV and all happened like that so again like Jax said there must be a mod or something that is making the Doc ask you all the one word questions and the ink blob ones too.

Didn't notice it, but had the same dialog with the ink blot conversation, just went through and continued game. It may be WWI, Willow, or the Some Guy mods. Have these that match your load order.

It has been a while, been play Mass Effect Trilogy, but I recall the face change, and Vigor-testor bypass, to the Doc taking the long way to the door, then asking the ink-blot questions twice, then going into normal dialog upon leaving his home. I would say disable those mods and see if it fixes your issues, all but WWI happen after Doc Mitchell anyway.

This is a bit of a guess, but I had a similar problem crop up on another playthough and previous install I had.

My question for the OP is, "NVWillow.esp" is this the latest version that Llama made?

I had Doc Mitchell try and "sit" in mid air at the door and go though several change gen questions at that point. Basically like you had described in your 4th post.

Of the mods in your load order, and the ones I was using myself. That is the only common one I was also using that I did not put into my current load order. In which that problem didn't crop up again. Mind you it's just a guess on my end.
