No markers?

Post by spamdown » Sat Dec 07, 2013 12:19 am

I've just installed TTW and whenever I start a new game I get both opening cutscenes. I assumed this meant everything was fine and dandy, but I never got the markers on the map that apparently show that it actually works. I even traveled to the spot where the train station should be with no luck.

I was just wondering why this is, seeing as I get the cutscenses and it seemed to install properly?

Only place that may be in error is that I don't know how to get the x32bit  Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable SP1. Whenever I click on the link It doesn't differentiate between x32 and x64 so I have no idea If I'm installing the right software... None the less, it still installed without any errors.

Thanks for any heads up.

Well the markers only appear

Post by Risewild » Sat Dec 07, 2013 1:57 am

Well the markers only appear if you go there, like normal map markers. But you said you went to the train station and it wasn't there? frown

When you start a new game do you start in Vault 101 being born or do you start in Doc Mitchell's house waking up with a big headache?

When I start the game I begin

Post by spamdown » Sat Dec 07, 2013 2:09 pm

When I start the game I begin at Doc's House. Should it be the other way around?

I don't even get the location on the map, so there's that. When I went to the supposed location at Freeside it wasn't there.

OS: Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Processor: Intel Core i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20 GHz

TTW Install log is there (not sure what its purpose is). It has nothing written in the txt file.

I don't use any mods

Symptoms are that I Installed it and get both opening cutscenes, but when I travel to Freeside there is no train station.

I tried re-installing to no avail.

is your load order correct

  • FalloutNV.esm

  • DeadMoney.esm

  • HonestHearts.esm

  • OldWorldBlues.esm

  • LonesomeRoad.esm

  • GunRunnersArsenal.esm

The Courier's Stash packs are optional.

  • CaravanPack.esm

  • ClassicPack.esm

  • MercenaryPack.esm

  • TribalPack.esm

  • Fallout3.esm

  • Anchorage.esm

  • ThePitt.esm

  • BrokenSteel.esm

  • PointLookout.esm

  • Zeta.esm

  • TaleOfTwoWastelands.esm

If so open your Fallout.ini it is located in documents\my games\FalloutNV\Fallout.ini

Look at SCharGenQuest= (someting)

it should be SCharGenQuest=0001F388 if it is not change it and save the .ini

Start new game and see if you get the FO3 start.

Edit: Also when you get to the main menu screen does your game still say Fallout New Vegas or does it have a new logo that says A Tale of Two Wastelands?

I got everything to work. I

I got everything to work. I hadn't installed FOMM, I get TTW on the logo and everything.

One quick question though; I've bought a ticket and everything but It still won't let me leave Freeside to DC. Do I need to start again entirely with a FO3 character? Bear in mind, my current character is a NV save.

Edit: Sorry, I forgot to thank you for the help!

the easiest thing to do would

the easiest thing to do would to start a new game but if you use COC Springvail you should be able to get the FO3 main quests and the train running fine.

If the train in Vegas is

Post by Bastian772 » Mon Dec 09, 2013 9:59 pm

If the train in Vegas is giving you the option to "Stay in the capital wasteland", you can either do what Chuck said or step into the wide-open Vegas Wasteland for a few seconds (IE: The gate from freeside to "Wasteland").  Doing that will force TTW to update your location and make the train behave properly.
