Texture issue with the chinese assault rifle.

This is the texture whenever I have the Chinese assault rifle equipped. This texture does not appear whenever an NPC is wielding a Chinese assault rifle, or its dropped on the ground.

I'm getting it too. Exact same issue. My load order is pretty minimalistic. Would you happen to be using my PN patch? I have a feeling that that may be causing it. Either way, I'll release a fix for it within the next few days (contained within my patch). I've been busy with school work lately. :/

Millenia's weapon retextures

Millenia's weapon retextures are known to cause issues with a few vanilla weapons when there's a FNV mod attached to it if it is touched by millenia's mesh change (Assault rifle included, the magazine and the scope would cause texture glitches all over the weapon).

Anyway, that very looks like a mesh problem, not a texture one, are you trying to use a different texture for the cfhinese assault rifle that needed a mesh update which is not installed? Or, are you asctually using a mesh updated C.A.R. without its proper texture?

I had a problem with  PN that was causing it, and i think that's your best bet, if you have it installed..

Could be WMX, and this fix worked for me with the assault rifle and chinese assault rifle (I saw the weapon on enemies etc but for FPS it was missing for me):


Fallout 3 weapon textures not found (using WMX)

Read the first download of the five (the first post) very carefully... It's the needed .BSA for versions up to 1.05.


It says "REQUIRED" which is what you forgot to do!!!!! - its no longer required if you have v1.06.

I *THINK* that that kind of texture error is because one of your mods removes the texture from the model, so it just uses whatever you're standing on to texture it.

I checked the chinese assault rifle in my TTW game and it doesn't happen so my opinion is that it has to be a mod thing or for some reason the game isn't finding the texture and like Aconagent said it is just loading whatever texture that is near.


EDIT: I am feeling nice today so lets see if this will help, Just get the .zip file I uploaded here and extract it to your fallout new vegas data folder (the FNV game that has TTW installed, in case you have more than one FNV game folder ) or just extract the file anywhere and drop the textures folder that is extracted into your data folder I mentioned before. A note: if you have a folder called textures with another folder inside called textures, then copy just the second one, we don't want a textures/textures folder .


Ooops I forgot to say to archive invalidate it after.

I'm just gonna shotgun, start clean and work my way up. Start with no mods and go up from there. Plus using all of your suggestions, if it is a mod I can try them out one at a time to try and narrow it down. Thanks all, I'll keep at it in between schoolwork till I can get it narrowed down.

EDIT: Fixed - The 1st Person Model was referencing incorrect textures. Put this closer to the bottom of your LO.

This is so strange surprise I have 2.33c just fresh installed everything (FNV and TTW) for testing purposes and the texture is fine in my game.
