TTW 2.6.3 No menu fix? advice needed.

Post by tom_57 » Tue Jun 10, 2014 1:54 pm

Hey guys.

I re-installed FNV to start a new, clean game with the new release of TTW. Downloaded and installed it as usual, and I encountered the no main menu bug.

Following the instructions here I narrowed the problem down to the PointLookout_main.BSA. Tried re-building with the TTW installer, no good.

So while continuing with the rather complicated fix instructions I decided to experiment by simply copying the PointLookout_main.BSA from my FO3 data folder and pasting directly into my FNV data folder and this appears to have worked. Menu now shows up and I could travel to point lookout, characters and creatures are all there, everything seems fine.

So will this work? or will this cause problems?

You'll have to grab the fixes which address the missing coffins and the lighthouse bulb, but other than this your experience will likely be unchanged.

Thanks Tricky.

Maybe I'm just stupid but this seems way easier.

I'll add the links to those fixes in this thread incase anyone else wants to do it this way.

It IS easier, but there is a decent amount of stuff the installer does, beyond fixing those meshes. If you encounter any bugs, please remember to remind us that you did this. Beyond that, tricky is right, you shouldn't experience too many issues.
