Pink NPC?

Post by DeepFriar » Thu Mar 27, 2014 12:22 pm

Hi,

I've been installing a fair few mods with no problem, however recently I've come across several NPC raiders who are bright pink..
I understand that if you have Boone as a companion, then NPCs will become pink to be more visible, however I haven't left DC, let alone recruited Boone.

There also seems to be an issue, when the raiders die, the "mesh missing" exclamation point appears. This slowly appears, rather than appearing immediately. When other NPCs are killed, there is no problem (I've killed mole rats, even the NPCs in Megaton and there's no issue).

I have attached images to point out what I mean, and also included my mod list.

This is usually either

This is usually either because of system resource problem and/or did not toggle archive invalidation off/on or you do not have archive invalidation installed.

Apologies, but I not well

Post by DeepFriar » Thu Mar 27, 2014 10:00 pm

Apologies, but I not well experienced in some of the more technical aspects of modding.

I'm currently installing my mods through NMM which has an "archive invalidation" constantly selected. I turned that on and off, however the NPCs are still pink.

Would I need a seperate archive invalidation program?

Hello friar,

Try:

-check/uncheck archive invalidated in NMM

if it worked or not

-check your load order with BOSS

Just to in case

-Create a merge patch in FNVedit

It should get rid of it.

Hi Alex,

Hi Alex,

I've done as you said, and unchecked the archive invalidated option, and then re-checked it (though nothing occurs aside from a warning asking me if I'm sure).

I've also checked my load order with BOSS, and it's stated the following in its log:
Plugin Type Count

Recognised 62

Unrecognised 27

Inactive 3

All 89

Warning: Need check for Tale of Two Wastelands load order
Not exactly sure what to do with this information however. I'm currently creating a merge patch, however as I'm fairly new to this more technical side of modding, I'm a little unsure of which mods I should be creating the merge patch with, as such I'm moreso trying anything at this point.

So I've merged most of my mods into the merge patch in FNVedit, however I'm still faced with pink-bodied raiders that leave exclamation marks when they die. Although it doesn't happen for every raider that dies, it seems to be at random.

Hello, Thanks for the update.

Hello, Thanks for the update. I had the same problem in the past. It was a mod that did it.

I disabled one by one my mods to find out. Mart's Mutant Mod is a good start, there is a lot of different Raiders in that mod. I had problems with busworld too.

Are you using the converted

Are you using the converted MMM?

EDIT  Also, for neatness' sake, get the merged version of More perks from the NVEC page on the Nexus, or use the FNV+FO3 combined version from this forum.

So after going through the mods, it was both MMM, and a super-mutant rebalance I had for TTW that seemed to be causing the issue.

Plumjuice, yes I downloaded the MMM mod from this forum, specifically this one. Unless there's another one I should be using?

The super mutant rebalance

Post by plumjuice » Fri Mar 28, 2014 5:33 am

The super mutant rebalance mod works fine, as does busworld listed by alexcroww.

I don't know for sure if thats the best MMM conversion, but since sesom hasnt released his yet (at least I dont think he has) I would suggest not using it at all, for the reasons he lists in the latest post in that thread.
