Source File Name larger then supported

Post by Obdulio » Wed Jul 23, 2014 1:15 am

This is the first time one of the installers is giving me this issue, when unzipping with RAR or 7zip I get...

" The source file name(s) are larger then is supported by the file system. " Error.

I read the FAQ and tried putting into the root of one of my drives in its own folder.. so it would be E:\TTW\

i got the same error

Next i just decided to dump it all in the root of E:\

same error

its 383 files that can't be unzipped starting with dlc04generic_acceptyeld_0000d860_1.ogg.DAAAF..

[the rest can't fit on the error screen]

I haven't tried putting into C:\  because i honesty don't think it'll make a difference in fact E:\ is bigger HDD then C:\ with more free space.

Update: just tried putting it into C:\   same error

It wasn't the installer, it

Post by Obdulio » Wed Jul 23, 2014 1:22 am

It wasn't the installer, it was taking out the installer from the rar file.

I managed to get it however i simply moved the rar file into TTW folder in the root of E:\ and unzipping it for there.

I'm guessing since it was transferring from the Desktop in C:\ to E:\ the path names were too much for it to move over.

If someone else is having this problem that is what you need to do.

Don't use WinRAR to extract

Post by RoyBatty » Wed Jul 23, 2014 4:20 am

Don't use WinRAR to extract the installer, use 7zip. This is a LONG standing path bug in WinRAR relating to FAT 32 legacy support.
