Starts with New Vegas every time...

Post by PaladinV0ci » Wed Sep 25, 2013 7:08 pm

Hi,

I just downloaded TTW and installed it, I have all the required files (.NET & C++) and both games are up to date (I think). My load order is as follows:

  • FalloutNV.esm

  • DeadMoney.esm

  • HonestHearts.esm

  • OldWorldBlues.esm

  • LonesomeRoad.esm

  • GunRunnersArsenal.esm

  • CaravanPack.esm

  • ClassicPack.esm

  • MercenaryPack.esm

  • TribalPack.esm

  • Fallout3.esm

  • Anchorage.esm

  • ThePitt.esm

  • BrokenSteel.esm

  • PointLookout.esm

  • Zeta.esm

  • TaleOfTwoWastelands.esm

Every time I start a new game within my NV game it goes to the New Vegas Cut Scene first, a loading screen, then the Fallout 3 Cut Scene, and then i finally end up in Doc Mitchell's house. Has anyone else experienced this problem, more importantly has anyone fixed it?

Thanks,

PaladinV0ci

This sounds almost exactly like what will happen with 2.3 (unreleased version) if you don't use the fomod installer to install TTW. 2.3 uses a different startup quest ID, which requires an edit to the game ini file in order to process correctly. Failure to change the ini will lead to start in FNV every time.

So basically the fix is to use the officially released 2.2 version until we fix all the bugs in 2.3 and officially release it.

Install TTW with a completely new install of both New Vegas and FO3. Please do not use a million billion mods with TTW as it is still very early in development. Also, please use the suggested load order on the download page.

One/some of your mods are overriding TTW and kicking you into Doc Mitchell's. Don't bother trying to find out which one(s). Just follow this procedure:

Uncheck ALL mods in FOMM/NMM. Start a game with ONLY NV, NV DLCs, FO3, FO3 DLCs, and TTW checked. Play through the intro in Vault 101, until the vault door closes behind you and you're about to go outside for the first time. SAVE.

NOW quit, enable your mods, load from that save, and go outside. Everything should be fine (barring some other, unrelated mod inconsistencies or bugs). You should be able to enjoy TTW in all it's glory.

We covered this in chat 1 day and 3 hours ago (judging from his last logon) he just never came back to post that we solved the issue. For the record, it was do that last bit by subtledoctor. Hence why it's recommended to not do the intro with mods.
