Is it normal to have the distance loading fog appear in DLCs?

Post by 2212 » Sat Sep 14, 2013 12:34 pm

I thought I would post this here instead of in the bug tracking area, because there might be a simple solution to solve the problem.

When I am in DLCs via the capital wastleand (all up to date, tested with just TTW 2.2a active) I get this interior fog stuff appear, that you sometimes get inside of massive internal spaces, but it is present in exteriors whilst outside in DLCs. It really ruins the DLCs for me.

Is this a persistent feature that cannot be removed due to the nature of mashing Fo3 and FNV together or can it be overcome somehow?

My settings are all on max for everything, including the LOD distances. So it is not that, and it is definitely not any other mod besides TTW.

I had a similar problem with a FNV mod called dry canyon, the mod author then released a fix for it, so I think it can be solved, If anyone has the final solution to this problem please post.

You're in luck, because there

You're in luck, because there are in fact two threads pertaining to this very issue here and here.

You should need to make sure that you have the necessary dlod settings for these worldspaces in the proper folder, located at data\LODsettings. Each dlod settings file is named for the the worldspace from which they were generated, so in the case of any of these worldspaces in question from the dlcs they're going to be prefaced with 'dlc02' or 'dlc03' etc.

The easiest way to do this is to use a mod manager like FOMM and extract them from the Fallout 3 DLC .bsas and put them in your NV data directory.
