Crash South of Primm

Post by PoWn3d_0704 » Sun Sep 21, 2014 7:04 pm

First off, Required Info.

System:  Windows 8.1, i5 4570, 8GB DDR-1600, nVidia 780Ti Driver Version 344.11

Using Nexus Mod Manager v0.52.1

Both the Install Log and the Load order are attached.

Long story short, I am getting a 100% crash rate when headed south of Primm in FNV. There is a little shack by a couple of billboards just south of Primm. There are two hostile units on the road. I can kill to two but as soon as I cross an imaginary line further south, I am getting a CTD. This is the only crash I've come across in ~20-25 hours of gameplay that DOES NOT involve a loading screen.

Pretty sure we are all used to the common crash between two areas.

The DC map has been really good to me. I want to head back to the DC map, but I have to get to Freeside to do that, and I cant make it though the Deathclaws to the north of Sloan.

I read through the bug list and havent seen anyone mention this yet.

EDIT: FO3 and FNV are GOTY editions from Steam. Not sure if that matters.

There's no shack by the billboards south of primm. Try disabling Nevada Skies.

Yeah, I did and it didn't work. Then I renabled it, didnt work. Left for a bit, came back, disabled nevada skies, and now it works fine. No idea what that is about.

Problem solved I guess? Just a TOTW quirk.

Nothing to do with Tale of Two Wastelands, I'm afraid. As a rule we don't modify anything in NV unless we absolutely have to. May be related to TTW Fixes though. I'm in the process of updating it for 2.7.

My project Dash is on Kickstarter!

I see. What got me is that disabling nevada skies the first time didnt do me any good, whereas the second time it worked. Maybe it could have something to do with TTWFixes. Maybe its just something else.

Has anyone come up with a way to stop the crashes between areas? The loading screen freezes? I did the Cell Purge mod, and I do run 4GB NV, and I did the Sheson memory patch too. Not sure what else I can do.

i'm told the cell purge mod isn't the best thing in the world, because it tends to do a lot of stuff on it's own timetable rather than when it might be more convenient, like when the game is not currently saving.

perms:  either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.
