Various Names in Different Languages

Post by SihvMan » Tue Aug 13, 2013 6:46 pm

Let me just start out by saying that both my Fallout 3 and Fallout NV are Steam copies, and that my load order is identical to the one listed in the install instructions.

I've been playing TTW for approximately two weeks now, and I just noticed something odd. While most of the locations in the Capitol Wasteland are named correctly, various places in the DC ruins (Museum of History, the Citadel, Jefferson Memorial, etc...) are named in (what I assume is) Spanish! While this is hardly a major issue, it still can be confusing/immersion-breaking at times.

I've double checked all of my language settings, and made sure they were all set to English. I even turned off all mods, just to check, and I still had this issue. After a search through the bug tracker and the Tech Support forums, I cannot seem to find a previous report or fix for this issue.

Can someone please tell me if this is a known issue? If so, can you please direct me to the forum that has it? If not, is there anything that anyone can think of to fix it?

I've never heard of that

I've never heard of that before. Very strange. No ideas. Make sure both games in Steam are set to be English, verify files for both and if any of them need to be redownloaded, reinstall TTW.

But before all that, what version of TTW are you using? What OS?

I am using the 2.2a Alpha

I am using the 2.2a Alpha Download. My OS is Windows 7 (Ultimate). Both games are set in English and everything checks out with the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" function on Steam.

Also, instead of "Capitol Wastelands" anytime I travel/exit/save outside, I'm seeing "Yermo" (Wilderness in spanish).

Well I got nothing, other than a mod. Post your load order, including disabled mods.

Nevermind, I figured it out.

Nevermind, I figured it out. Somehow, it is related to the "Sydney Follower" mod, which I converted incorrectly. The incorrect stuff then got lodged in my save game. I re-downloaded and re-converted the mod, and ran my save game through a save game cleaner, which fixed my issue.
