purifier won't activate

Alright, I removed all my mods except the hotfixes, mojave delight, ttw fixes, and 2 companion mods and I'm still not able to activate the purifier.

Please see the thread on manually sorting your load order.

Also read the FAQ.

You also have a huge messy load order and we can't take the time to sort out for you what the issue is.

Try disabling fixes.

I don't know why, but I loaded up a save before entering project purity and after firing my companions (I had all 8) it worked.
