Freeze when going near Mothership.

Hiya,

If I try to go towards the mothership, I freeze after getting vaguely close. ( Top of the crater above the alien is fine, moving down causes a freeze). I still get sound after the freeze.

Have no mods installed, and have tried a completely clean install, using the load order specified in the download instructions, with the optional Courier Stash Packs.

Is it a corrupt save or am I missing something?

I know that I've ran into that in Vanilla. It may be a corrupt save,  have you tried the "kill yourself load and go" technique?
