So I installed the game and moved the fallout 3 files over to fallout new vegas. The train station appeared and I went inside, but when i bought a ticket and went down to the train it wouldnt let me travel. In fact it gave me a very contradictory message. Whilst still in the NV universe, I hit the lever in the train and a message popped up saying I needed a ticket not to get to DC, but to get to vegas, where I already was. It wasnt a ticket issue either, I already bought 2.

Unless you do some console
Unless you do some console wizardry (and have a good grasp of what it is you are actually doing with the console) you should start your game again to play TTW. For the time being, NV starts and installing over in-progress playthroughs is not supported or intended.
