Crash on startup, clean installs, load order included

Post by Tony Pajamas » Mon Jul 01, 2013 10:40 pm

So after redownloading FNV again and clean installing TTW, I'm still crashing on startup, no mouse or menus appearing.

LonesomeRoad.esm

GunRunnersArsenal.esm

CaravanPack.esm

ClassicPack.esm

MercenaryPack.esm

TribalPack.esm

Anchorage.esm

ThePitt.esm

BrokenSteel.esm

PointLookout.esm

Zeta.esm

TaleOfTwoWastelands.esm

TTW_XPReduction.esp

As you can see, everything's where it's supposed to be   I had to drag and paste the FO3 esms over from its folder, dunno if that may be the problem. I was also using the disable gfwl patch with fo3.   Anyways, I'm completely stumped. Hoping I can get some help

If you had to drag the ESMs

Post by JaxFirehart » Mon Jul 01, 2013 11:06 pm

If you had to drag the ESMs over from the FO3 folder, then yes that is a problem. Why didn't you use the installer? IF you did use the installer, did it pop up any error messages? If so, what were they and why did you ignore them?

Also your load order is off. Fallout3 comes after all of the NV + DLC esms.

Well that install guide is out of date. Put Fallout3.esm after all the NV esms.

In your My Documents/My Games/TaleOfTwoWastelands folder there is an install log, post it here.

OK your problem is you

OK your problem is you installed into the data folder instead of the main FNV folder

So inside your DAta folder should be ANOTHER data folder that has all the TTW stuff in.

Spoiler tags work fine, it's the second icon from the left.

The reason load order is always asked for is not just about whether you have mods, it's so an objective look at your order can happen. In the future, copypasta a load order. It's easy, it's quick, and will likely help future problems.

Yep. The install log says

Post by JaxFirehart » Mon Jul 15, 2013 1:33 pm

Yep. The install log says that TTW installed perfectly for you, so whatever the problem is, it's probably something weird as TTW is quite picky. When you installed TTW, was it a pre-modded setup (even if you uninstalled and disable all mods, sometimes they leave behind debris)? Or was it a fresh clean install?

Your load order is always helpful, even if you are 100% sure it's right. Problems like what you are describing are usually caused by bad load order, or a dirty install.
