Installation Issue - Could not find a part of the path

Post by TedTheHippie » Fri May 31, 2013 5:46 am

I am trying to install ttw, but the patcher keeps stopping with the message:

"One or more of your Fallout 3 BSA files has failed to extract properly. If this problem persists, please report it."

and the log says:

"

...

Extracting Fallout - Textures.bsa

Cleaning up duplicate resources

Could not find a part of the path 'C:\ttwinstaller\TempInstall\meshes\architecture\suburban\interior\subrmwindowseperate01.nif'.

"

It seems like the patch process is stopping partway through unpacking the BSA files. Can anyone offer a fix, or diagnosis?

List of things done:

- fresh install of F3 and F3NV via steam. Checked versions, 1.7 and 1.4 respectively.

- patcher set to install the ttw files into c:\ttw

- tried running BSAopt x64.exe by itself, works just fine.

Which OS?

Which OS?

it sounds like the original filename might have been cut short when it was extracted.

try reinstalling your FO3 to something like "C:\Games\Fallout3". not only will this shorten the path names involved when extracting the files, it also bypasses the Windows hyper-sensitive protection of things installed in the Program Files folder

also, the installer needs about 10-15GB free harddrive space to play with.
