404 : fallout 3 weapon textures not found (solved)

Post by streichung » Wed Aug 14, 2013 6:08 pm

Hi,

some fo3 weapons seams not to have textures : instead of viewing the weapon's texture my fallout ttw shows a sign with a "!" in a big red triangle. I've albready seen this error with some fo3 mods and I found this http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/3793/?tab=2&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D3793&pUp=1

do you think this weapon high res textures mod may fixt it ?

If someone had a similar problem ...

I hope this is not gonna take too much performances. About performances, how could I increase my game performances (or make my game a little bit lighter because we can't allocate more than 4Gb to a 32-bit application) ?

More info required if you want suggestions for help with the missing mesh issue:

-Which weapons

-Load Order

-Pics of the issue

-Any install problems

Performance problems need more info such as:

-OS

-System Specs

-Game settings you have set and which ones you are not willing to lower

-Which mods you use. In particular, script heavy mods can cause slowdown if many are used.

The editor marker is used in place of a missing or bad .nif, not a missing texture. My guess is that you didn't move TTW's resources into your NV data directory after installing or you haven't completely uninstalled a mod you were using before.

It's about some fo3 fire weapons : assault rifle, chineese assault rifle, 22 cal revolver ... I uploaded a screen of what I see instead of the weapons. If equiped my character is slowed and the brightness is increased because the "!" is white.

I had no install problem. I just ticked the WMX option in NVEC patch (I use the ttw compatibility patch) that made my game "unstable". I didn't notice any changes.

My quality is set to medium. My boot is running a self-custom windows 7 (no drivers deleted) and has a nvidia gtx 550Ti SC 1go with 16go of RAM and a 8-core processor.

What is the location of the txt file I could find my mods list ?

Goog guess for the TTW data flooder. It was hidden. It's about the diff / txt files ? I put them into data flooder but nothing changed. I didn't see anything in the FAQ / download instructions about this.

Fixes assault rifle and chinese version: http://www.taleoftwowastelands.com/content/ttw-20-wmx-mods-some-ttw-weapons

Read the first download of the five (the first post) very carefully...

It says "REQUIRED" which is what you forgot to do!!!!!

And make sure you select either the TTW-WMX (1.05) or TTW-WMXUE (1.04) download.

.22 Revolver fix is due to WMX (follow my instructions): http://www.taleoftwowastelands.com/content/missing-meshtexture-22-revolver

I was using ttw-unified with wmx and not wmxue, that's why the NVEC patch didn't detect wmx as installed.

The textures I noticed are good : it solved the problem. I recommand them (faster than extracting the textures from fallout.bsa and better quality).
