Going to New Vegas Problem

Post by BrendioEEE » Sat Jun 15, 2013 8:47 am

Okay I think I know what my problem is I just need someone to help me fix this. When I go to new vegas Doc Mitchell constantly follows me around thus never giving me a pip boy so when I go outside of his house my left arm has a hole in it and my Pip Boy 2500 is glued to my hand. I had a friend who had the same problem but he went into less detail on the forums. I am pretty sure none of my mods are the problem seeing as how on a previous save when I went to new vegas with the same mods my Pip Boy was fine.

A big guess of mine is that it was the update to the pip boy 2500 that caused the problem I will try and get the older version and report back. Please help me I am not starting a new game or removing any mods because I know for a fact they are not the issue. (Except as I said possibly the pip boy update)

Its a real shame if this doesn't get fixed I will not play the game if this does not get resolved so for now I am going back to skyrim and waiting for Fallout 4 (Damn November 2014 is so far away D:)

All handheld pipboy mods will

Post by sesom » Sat Jun 15, 2013 9:53 am

All handheld pipboy mods will have this problem. It's not the fault of TTW it's the fault of the handheld pipboy mods who don't take in account that the pipboy can be removed from the player and has to in the original games (Tranquility Lane in FO3, Pimpboy 3000 in NV).  So you will run in the same troubles in the original games.

All this years and none of the handheld pipboy maker cared about it. I don't get it why but it is the case.

The solution for your particular problem would be to deinstall the handheld version (read the instructions very carefully) and use the armband version of the pipboy 2500 instead of the handheld. It's a lot more compatible and looks nearly the same.

Here is the thing I tried it

Here is the thing I tried it with that exact mod and it didn't work. I even tried it with the default pip boy 3000 and for some reason it didn't work you may say its one of my mods but i'm not so sure because when I tried to go to new vegas on the same save with the same mods earlier nothing happened.

Did you use the train to

Post by Risewild » Sun Jun 16, 2013 1:42 am

Did you use the train to reach NV the first time you went there, or did you used any other way (like coc console command, teleport mods/features, any other way)?

I ask this because if you don't use the train the first time you go to NV the game will not run certain stuff (I am not knowledgeable about technical names cheeky ) and you will have problems in the NV side of TTW (like that one you're having now).

Nope I took the train as before I am guessing maybe if you go to new vegas before you start any quests there shouldn't be any problems but I don't want to start a new game just for this minor issue. My friend is having the same exact problem aswell btw...

A load order is always

A load order is always helpful for stuff like this, the more experienced forum-goers can spot some trouble mods right off the bat.

rather than taking pictures, use FOMM/NMM to export you load order as a txt file. then you can attach the txt file as an upload to your post here in the forums
