installer running but not copying

Post by bulldogue88 » Sat Apr 27, 2013 9:17 pm

Hey guys /gals my problem is different than the other main.bsa topics on the forums.

1. The installer runs identifies both game locations in the steam folders fine..

But its not copying anything to the location specified just an empty folder named data and it only takes 5 minutes while people are saying it should take 45 minutes right?

also I am  not getting any thing in my log box saying identifying system architecture etc. just what i have provided in the text file.

Windows 7, 64 bit I have installed .net framework 4.5 , and the c++ redistributable 2012 as indicated in the instructions

It is throwing me a cannot patch main.bsa file error

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The Temporary Install folder

Post by sesom » Sun May 05, 2013 1:17 am

The Temporary Install folder is completely normal. Looking at your picture I assume you run the installer in your programs directory. Not a good idea. Decrompress the downloaded zip in your root directory so it is in a folder like C:\ttwinstaller and in there are the resources folder and TTW Patcher.exe.

hey sesom I actually got it

Post by bulldogue88 » Sun May 05, 2013 7:41 pm

hey sesom I actually got it to work by,

making a copy of my fallout new vegas and fallout goty folders to a ttw folder on the desktop so the path is a bit shorter  like C:\Users\username\Desktop as oppose to the steamapp folder which looks like

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas

and it worked

then i moved the Data folder into my fallout new vegas folder in my steamapps directory

i guess the installer sometimes has trouble with spaces and long file paths maybe?

The trouble here was that

The trouble here was that Windows, Steam and AV/Malware programs protect the C:\Program Files (x86)\ folder. The result is that the installer doesn't can do it's work. Glad that it is reolved.
