Installation shuts down computer

Post by Cthulhusquid » Fri Mar 08, 2013 2:18 am

The installation shuts down my computer in the 4rth prompt as it is copying over the files. I have all the DLCs and my games are not pirated, and there is already mods installed. Any ideas?

More info than needed, but I got what I need. Your system should be able to handle the installer (I should hope). Run a disk defrag and try again.

Good news is, after defragging it installed correctly, but it doesn't  start a game in Vault 101. Instead, it starts a game in Goodsprings like normal. Is it supposed to do this?

Currently using vast amounts

Post by JaxFirehart » Fri Mar 08, 2013 10:18 pm

Currently using vast amounts of mods is NOT suggested for TTW, due to conflicts. I can't spot anything in your load order but one of those mods is modifying the start-up quest and forcing it to start in NV. This isn't a huge problem, just ride the train to DC and hack moriarty's terminal in megaton to kickstart the FO3 quest.

Should I deactivate the mods,

Post by Cthulhusquid » Fri Mar 08, 2013 10:37 pm

Should I deactivate the mods, and see what happens? Or should I run the patcher/installer thing again? I would prefer if I didn't have to start in NV again.

UPDATE:

Apparently it was a mod, I just have to figure out what is was :)

I would start deactivating

Post by JaxFirehart » Fri Mar 08, 2013 10:40 pm

I would start deactivating mods and narrow down which one is causing a conflict. Are you familiar with FNVEdit?
