My computer crashes and shuts down on installation, on the 3rd or 4th screen of the installer. Any help?

Sounds rough, hopefully we can get this issue fixed so you can start playing.
Are you installing over a clean installation of New Vegas? Or is this an old version that you've played before and modded?

Hate to say it, but it sounds
Hate to say it, but it sounds like a bad sector on your hard drive. When the TTW installer tries to write to the bad sector, crash time.
Try running checkdisk on your hard drive to check for errors. Instructions for doing this are here: http://kb.wisc.edu/page.php?id=229

No to both :/
Used and modded New Vegas, and no to the second comment.
Pretty sure the problem is with Fo3 because when I try to launch it I get a "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application."

Try a fresh (not used and not
Try a fresh (not used and not modded) install of FO3 and FNV, remember you need those games patched to the latest version, you also need ALL DLC's for both games and the games need to be legal copies since TTW doesn't install properly with altered/pirated games. Make sure your computer drivers are up to date.
It does sound like thermador said a HDD problem, or a software corruption somehow.

Have you overclocked? This
Have you overclocked? This installer is one of the few programs that uses all six cores of my processor. Mine didn't overheat but it was getting warm.

I think that might be likely.
