A brief issue on FOMOD installation..

Post by Nothing. » Tue Jan 07, 2014 9:05 am

I had just gotten through on installing the latest version of TTW on a fairly fresh installation of the GOTY Fallout 3, and Fallout NV ultimate games, with a few NV mods here and there before initiating the process for installing TTW.  It was all going fine, followed the directions to the letter, and opted to let the installer create a FOMOD as suggested. After that finished, continued following the directions up to letting it install through the mods tab of NMM.

As the installation came fairly close to finishing, an error message popped up informing me  somewhere along the lines that (the exact error message quote escapes me) object "/13787fa7_97fc_4b06_8a24_99c4c2903d81/ttxo5psouyijcjx887sasuem_6.rem" was missing, and that the mod was not installed. Subsequent attempts failed, yielding the same message.  I just wanted to know if this really meant anything, or a possible explanation of what could have gone wrong to make the FOMOD file not install completely.

Nevertheless, determined to get the mod working, I opted to simply install the game using the manual method, and so far things seem to be working for the most part.  The only anomaly I've noticed is Jericho not having any conversation exit audio, and only the text showing up.  But other than that, everything else seems to be working just fine.  I apologize if I've left any information out that might be of use. I only intended to ask this question just in case something within the mod goes wrong, and a reinstallation of the mod might be necessary.

This is a common problem

This is a common problem (there are numerous threads about it). NMM is inefficient when working with large FOMODs, meaning you need a fairly beefy computer to install TTWs FOMOD. What are your system specs?

My apologies, admittedly, I didn't go thread searching beyond the first page when looking to see if there was a similar issue.  Strangely, I did use the search function prior to making the thread, but nothing turned up.

To answer your question about my specs : An Intel Core i70 930 Processor @ 2.80 GHz, I have 6 GB RAM, and this machine is running on a Windows 7 operating system.  Nothing exactly impressive.
