Performance Issues

Post by LikeSenpai » Sat Jan 18, 2014 12:41 am

sorry to disturb you again, I'm wondering if you guys can help me out.

I currently have this issue where my hardware isn't being used and I get poor frame rates, such as 45fps outside the flooded metro near the nuka cola plant. Even when I change the affinity to use only my physical cores it still doesn't use them past 75% or so. My GPUs aren't even being used, they never get above 60% regardless on whether or not I disable SLI. I've tried all manner of tweaks.

Comparing apples to guava here but I can play Crysis 3 maxed out at +50fps and Fallout 3 at 60fps

CPU: i7 3770k @ 4.1GHz

GPU: GTX670

RAM: 16GB 1600Mhz DDR3

If you wonderful people could help me it would make my day. If you need any more info I'll post it up in the morning.

TTW is VERY RAM intensive. How much RAM do you have?

Care to give more information? Texture packs? Load Order? Optimizer Textures? NVAC? NVSR? ENB? Toaster?

Not trying to bash you or trying to be rude in anyway, I am saying this because text is not the best way to express oneself and there is only so far the use of smilies can take us  also what I am about to type might sound rude or not very nice depending on context, but please I am not trying to be like that I am just curious.

May I ask why running TTW at 45fps is such an issue?

Most people play it with around 30fps and that makes the game run quite smooth anyway. I see no point in wanting to run it higher than what you have already.

Also I don't think that having a lot of RAM helps when it comes to FNV stuff since the maximum we can make it use is 4GB (although having more than that will help with other RAM usage your computer might need for other purposes while running the game) using the 4GB enabler because it's a 32-Bit program, while 64-Bit games can use more than that.

I don't know if Crysis 3 is a 32-Bit or 64-Bit game but if it is a 64-Bit then that is probably why it runs at 60fps.

Yeah sadly there are limits to the FNV engine.

How many mods are you using?  What are they?

Morning all! Thanks for the replies smiley

I'm using NMC medium texture pack I've used the texture Optimizer to compress and reduce everything to 1k, along with NVACNVSR, 4gb enabler, NVconfigurator and ENB. Although turning ENB on or off makes no real difference. I'm not using a toaster but I am using a hammer, do I need a bigger hammer?

It's not so much 45fps being an issue, I'd leave it like that if it wouldn't keep dipping to 30 and below sometimes. It's just not using a little more power to give me a stable platform I can cap at.

I've attached my load order I'm using 86 mods. I did turn off everything apart from TTW and the stash pack and it went up to 55 in the same spot, although some red markers appeared.

From what I can tell Crysis has 32-bit since Cry2, damn console people! cheeky

NVSR has an option in it's ini to impose a FPS limit on the game. Enable that and set to 30, you'll find that all the resources used to make your game run 45+ will be used elsewhere... like making sure your game never drops below 30.
