Something wrong's with my version

Hello, so i've got some big bugs in my game so here they are : -First : the train station at Freeside is just messed up


-Second : Most of my weapons are messed up too (only fallout 3 weapons)



-Third : And the super-mutant, most of his body is invisible

I don't have make a new game.


I use legal french versions of Fallout 3 and NV, and i'm sure is not that that make the problems, i only use english mods, and i make my own traduction of the mods.


And i have a fresh install of New Vegas and Fallout 3

Only legal ENGLISH versions of FO3 and FNV are guaranteed to be supported. Run the installer again and get me its output (the big text box above the install button).

I will give you the output tomorrow, i don't have the time now, sorry, but the english and french versions differs only from the name like "Garde-Robe" to "Wardrobe" or "Four" to "Oven", or i'm wrong, i will look that tomorrow with FNVEdit, so Goodnight all :D

The problem is most likely the french copy of FO3. The patcher requires a very specific copy of FO3.esm which is unfortunately english only. Do you know your way around wrye bash? If you use wrye bash to add FalloutNV.esm as a master to your copy of Fallout3.esm it SHOULD work. You would also need to change the master of all of the FO3 DLC files FROM Fallout3.esm TO FalloutNV.esm. Even after all that, chances are good that you wont get it to work as well as an english copy.

I can download Wrye Bash, but is it possible with FNV Edit normaly, But if i understand the only thing what i need to do is : i Download Wrye Bash and i set Fallout NV master of FO3 and all the dlcs to FO3 at NV


And, i will give you the output ^^


Uh, is it Wrye Bash for skyrim or oblivion, or Wrye Flash for NV or FO3 ?

Just use FNVEdit/TESSnip if you're used to either of those. They all have functionality to change a header file. But yea Jax is probably right. TTW freaks out if it doesn't have the right files to work with.

You MUST use Wrye Flash or TESSNip to add FalloutNV ans Fallout3's master, the DLCs MUST be changed in FNVEdit. The reason for this is because, when you add a master in FNVEdit, it corrects the load order of the files records and we actually DON'T want it to do this for Fallout3.esm but we do want it to do this for the DLCs.


And yes use Wrye Flash, I mistyped, but it sounds like you know what you are doing.

Ah and i have search with FNV Edit the difference between TTW (english) and FO:NV (french) only names differs from the versions, but i will look one more time, when i'm not tired ^^

Well the patch is just an automated of changing masters like I suggested. Generally we leave the base Fallout3 files alone. So because your install is french it will never patch properly, but if you did as I said and modified the masters appropriately you should be fine in that respect.


Your Voices and Menu Voices .bsa files also failed to patch, because of the different language files stored, I'm sure. That said, it looks it did at least do the initial rebuild properly, so, for the most part, your game should be playable at least. You will notice a lot of missing meshes in the DLC because all of the Fallout3 DLC bsa files failed to patch, again, probably because of the different language.


I would say your install is as good as its going to get until we make an official french translation.


Also, if you have any further bugs or issues, make sure to mention in the post that you had to jury rig your install together, and post a link to this page, so that the people who try to help you understand your unique situation.
