Lost items from DC to Mojave?

Erm, I'm not sure if this is the best place to put this but, can my items that I lost going to the Mojave for the first time be recovered? I assumed I'd get them back going through the main quests but after getting to Benny and killing him, nothing. I'm assuming this might just be a bug on my end since I've looked around and haven't seen anything related to this but I'm fairly sure none of my loaded mods touch the main quests.

You shouldnt have lost any items in the trip. If you did, its a mod that caused it.
