Using XDelta for "Other language "

Post by manos » Sat Jul 27, 2013 11:47 am

Yo! How are you? ;)

I dont really know if i can ask my question, because it may help those with a pirated game, which is not my case.

I own both Fallout  (Steam) and i just try to understand the new TTW's structure.

Since TTW 2.0+ using a different way to build its BSA, i dont think the trick for other language (FAQ) is still working well.

So, i have a question about Xdelta:

[collapsed title=Here!]Is there anyway to manually use it via a ".bat" like TTW's patcher is doing?

The patcher needs a specific copy of Fallout 3, means that it needs a specific checksum for Fallout 3's files, right?

Will this works if i tell it to match my version of Fallout 3 and using it without the patcher itself?

If so, can you tell me the "Syntax" to use?[/collapsed]

I dont even know if you will understand me, since i am not a native english, but as always please tell me if i misspelled ;)

Thanks

The binary patches are VERY specific, you can't just tell it to use your version of Fallout3 instead of the one it was built for. I can add in alternate language support, but the rebuilt Fallout3 and TTW assets need to be translated into the alternate language, then I can build patches for the alternate language. TTW doesn't use a .bat, that is just an extra file that needs to be removed.

Thanks for the reply, that's what i was thinking, it was a theory that i hoped it could work :(

I had already translate TTW assets in french but for the 1.41 and i was waiting for your next almost perfect release to translate this one :)

It shouldn't be long to translate all assets from this version. The most painful is to double or triple check for translation mistakes...

I saw that another member starts the translation work (french), do you have some news from the guy?
