TTW system requirements

Post by mikewnek » Sat Apr 27, 2013 12:24 pm

let me start off by saying i LOOOVE TTW but its brutal on my pc. i have and AMD FX8350 eight core 4Ghz with 8 gigs ram and an nvidia geforce gtx 660 ti 2gb. i should be able to play this noooo problem right? i play it on ultra of course and when unmodded except for TTW i only can get 35 fps in most areas and sometimes drop to as low as 20 fps. i dont understand... any ideas? i platy skyrim on ultra and even crysis... so why cant i play TTW on ultra? does anyone have any idea what hardware would make this run on ultra? i feel that it could be my processor not handling the load of 2 games at once but i could be wrong. please post your computers specs and let me know how TTW runs on ultra. thanks :D

First off, it is still

First off, it is still loading only one game (one engine) ... I have found that ttw actually runs smoother than the original FNV. What you need to do is go to fallout nexus and download a mod called "fallout optimized" atleast I believ that is what it's called. Follow installation directions to the tee. Don't use nmm, it is a manual install kind of mod. Also use fallout stutter remover also found at nexus. Install it manually and run once. Once it is run change it's ini file to set at 60 fps instead of 30. Btw I run this game at ultra with settings maxed out on a dual core amd phenom and a gtx 560 while running 45 ~ 60 fps. I will return to confirm that the mod I am thinking of is in fact called fallout new vegas optimized. I'm using my iPhone right now :)

Also, I am also running it

Also, I am also running it with nmc's texture mod max settings. If my computer can run smoothly with much lower specs than yours, you can run vanilla ttw at 60 fps no problem...

This is the link fo new vegas optimized. Follow directions exactly, to reiterate you can't install with nmm or any other mod installer it has to be manually. Icalso suggest you download his high end optimization pack because you have a very powerful machine. I will be back with the link for the stutter remover... Stupid iPhone 3...

I apologize for taking up so

I apologize for taking up so much room... Stupid iPhone.... Here is the last link http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/34832
Yet again a mod that needs to be installed manually, it also requires the new Vegas script extender. One more suggestion before I go. Google "fallout new vgas texture optimizer" run that as well. No it doesn't reduce the quality of your textures, just makes them easier to load and ultimately gaining you mor fps.

thank you very much. my vanilla TTW runs at 35-40 fps and with my game HEAVILY modded it runs exactly the same 35 fps are. i run project reality project nevada im running the enhanced shaders enb wmx, EVE, and TONS more major mods. and i have nmc's LAGRE texture pack. 7 gigs or fextures lol. and it still only dropped a few fps. maybe theres somthing conflicting in my game making it have such a low fps? idk ill try what you said and ill get back to you

Big mods like project reality

Post by rbroab » Sat Apr 27, 2013 3:15 pm

Big mods like project reality, eve, enhanced shaders, etc. have been known to drop frame rate. No way around it unless you want to stop using mods. Though there are some mods and fixes that can help. There was a thread here that featured most of them and explained which ones did and didn't work for TTW

I'm not alright, I'm an equal amount of left.

You're right about that, but

You're right about that, but I guess we all figure everyone uses it so there's no need to bring it up. Great reminder.

Actually I don't use that

Post by Computerrock1 » Sat Apr 27, 2013 3:56 pm

Actually I don't use that myself, I use a CFF Explorer and modify the engine directly so that it has a larger address than 2GB...

Just modify the Large Adress Aware Flag! No need for a a pesky external engine mod!

However 4GB FalloutNV is much easier to use :)
