TTW Installer Issue

Post by Appletart » Tue Jun 17, 2014 7:50 pm

I uninstalled and reinstalled New Vegas to have a clean game and downloaded the new installed and ran it.

I keep getting press any key prompts from the installer and at the end of it my game refuses to load the menus and this is the second time its done this. Its done it before on the v2.4 installer.

I am using Windows 8.1 and i get to see the command prompt windows scrolling through line after line of files. I also have a Windows 7 machine and done the same and the command prompts are always blank but the v2.4 installer worked on Windows 7 but the same one didn't on Windows 8.1. I haven't had the chance to install the new version yet on my Windows 7 machine as its been interrupted twice and takes AGES. I won't be able to tell you if the game will work on Windows 7 until the weekend but the installation process is different on both machines. I think on Windows 8.1 there is something that isn't letting it work correctly.

I'm using a Windows 8.1 machine and am encountering the same problem. After about a week of reinstalling and following the FAQ I've given up and am just waiting for some kind of fix.

It doesn't, i press enter, follow it to the end and it even says installation successful but when launching the game refuses to load the menus, it did the EXACT same thing with v2.4's installer but that same installer worked on Windows 7.

Appletart,

This has been fixed will be included in the latest release. Until then I've attached an updated copy of the installer that should work. Please let me know if it solves the console windows staying open.

The no-menus bug is a separate issue. This guide was posted recently and has a walkthrough of ways to diagnose and fix it.

Installer didn't prompt me to press any key and did it all itself but I'm still not getting any menus.
