Can't use my weapon in NV

So I've been playing through the DC wasteland for a considerable amount of time without an issue so far (which is refreshing and awesome!) and yet after leaving doc mitchell's house after being shot in the head i can't draw my weapon for some odd reason. I press the button, reload the save and i can't draw my weapon at all. Any suggestions?


EDIT: This is after first travel to MW. I can't aim/zoom in either. Odd

Any mods?


Also, did you go through all of the dialog with Doc Mitchell? Like using the vigor tester then walking to the door?

The only mod that really edits anything in a major way is NVEC-Enhancments? Oh, I was impatient once and teleported to a cell where there is some armour mods in the MW near camp searchlight. When I first arrived in Goodsprings and talked to Sunny Cheyenne barks at me, then Sunny just asks how I'm doing then stays there. The part where we shoot bottles doesn't happen.

Mods are mods, weather you think it changes something major or not. The most random mods can change things you wouldn't even think they would.


Try disabling ALL of them and playing it. Might even need a clean save. If it works, you can narrow it down.

Hey mate, have you tried using the EnablePlayerControls command? it seems to fix problems like this, I had the same issue once and it helped.

as rbroab said, even the tiniest mod can have unplanned effects, especially if the mod maker didn't properly clean their mod. "dirty" mods can be the bane of a mod users existence.

did you go through the whole NV chargen sequence? waking up a Doc Mitchel's, use the vigor tester, etc? circumventing the chargen quest can lead to Bad Things.


it sounds like you are stuck with the NV chargen quest partially completed, your controls are disabled for the beginning part of the quest.

then you might try going back to DC, use the console command "resetquest 00104c1c" to restart the NV chargen quest and then take the train from DC to the Mojave. hopefully that will reinitiate the quest so you can complete it properly.
