Loading screens

Post by sylandro » Thu Sep 01, 2016 6:35 am

Hi, this might be a question more about New Vegas than TTW, but it only has affected me while playing TTW.   I've noticed that the loading screen backgrounds are loaded randomly regardless of what cell they're supposed to show in, while the correct text is displayed.   Here's an example. In the GECK I can see that the Point Lookout loading screens should display like this:     But ingame, only the tip is displayed, and a random background appears:     At first I thought it was because the installer hadn't extracted the corresponding DLC04 textures, but I manually extracted them from FO3 and placed them in the correct folder (even the thumbnail is displayed in the geck), and it's still happening.

I also know it's not a load order or archive invalidation issue. I have the DLC04 backgrounds set last on my Mod Organizer list, and everything else, like texture packs, correctly overwrite the masters. I even made an esp where I set the backgrounds manually and placed it on the bottom of my load order, to no avail.

New Vegas changed the way the loading screens work entirely, it's one of those things we can't really do much about.

Oh, I had a feeling it was a New Vegas thing rather than something on my side. I couldn't find much information about this anywhere else, thanks for the reply!

The loading screen types and stuff haven't even been decoded, I'll probably look into it.
