Solved lighting brightness/contrast problem

Post by randy » Tue Oct 20, 2015 8:06 pm

A little while ago I was asking in chat about the overly bright light sources/whites in my game. We talked about mods, monitor settings, pc specs and everything else you can think of.

Here's a picture that clearly shows the problem I had

Today I fixed the issue. It was caused by the "Friend of the Night" perk. I removed the perk using 'player.removeperk 00165118".

I ran back to Paradise Falls so I could take an after shot. This is what it looks like after removing the perk

* I also installed Interior Lighting Overhaul. This didn't have any effect on the overly bright/white lights and surfaces but I figured it should be noted.

* I read somewhere that the perk doesn't work inside. It most certainly does work inside.

* I'm fully aware that the perk is only supposed to work at certain times but as far as I can remember, lights were always bright as hell regardless of what time it was in-game.

I want to thank you for taking time to explain this problem and then post your solution so that others can search for it on the site.

As a Megaton Settler likes to say (if the player is good karma) "I wish there was more people like you in the world"

No biggie. I'm hoping my post will help at least one other person. I tried to use a bunch of different keywords to make it easier to find.
