Hi guys, just wanted to start off first by saying this is an incredible and impressive mod and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I have been reading throughout this site but I haven't been able to find this out, so hopefully I'm not repeating someone. I read that since FNV is not as modified as FO3, completing Hoover Dam definitely means the end of the game. I haven't been able to find if that is the same case for Broken Steel. Just a note, I actually never played Broken Steel before, just OA and Pitt, so I don't actually know if it has the same kind of end game as FNV. I'm not picky about spoilers, and any help is appreciated!

You can continue after Broken
You can continue after Broken Steel that is how vanilla worked too but if you do the battle at Hover Dam the game will end.

Thanks guys. I was a little wary of how far I should go into both campaigns before this.

thats if you prefer playing
thats if you prefer playing through the fallout new vegas end first and end off at the purifier. CAGE prevents the purifier quest from completing and as a result gets you stuck at the purifier.

It does? I thought CAGE was NV only?

*shrug* its a rather broken
*shrug* its a rather broken thing overall. I believe it has to do with how it doesn't "finish" the dam quest and screws with the script that handles the credits slides

Thanks LightingManGTS. I
Thanks LightingManGTS. I actually just arrived in NV after getting the mission to go to vault 112 to find dad in FO3, mostly just cuz I wanted a change of scenery. I plan on finishing all of FO3 first before finishing FNV, and that's part of the reason I was concerned about the ending for FO3.
One quick question though, is the train the only way to get to and from each wasteland? (aside from the console). Do I need to buy a ticket each time I want to use it?

The train is the only
The train is the only official way. There are a few mods floating around that provide alternatives, like the Mobile Truck Base, not sure what else. The train requires a ticket each time, yes. The console is not recommended for transit, since the transit scripts in the train set various settings/flags and those won't be done if you bypass the script for it. It should go without saying, but if you travel between wastelands by something other than train (be it mod, or console), that's kind of outside our help zone and there may be unintended consequences.

I understand using something
I understand using something outside the mod's normal method of travel comes with risks. Thanks for confirming that the train is the main mode of transportation.
