Oblivion in Fallout?

Post by Greshloc » Sun Jun 07, 2015 6:48 am

I had a thought recently.

Would it even be possible to allow oblivion content in a Fallout game, considering they are both on the same engine and even have similar scripts?

I think it could be kinda funny to shoot up the imperial city in full power armor.

Well the primary concern

Well the primary concern would be animations and even that isn't a real problem. Horses might pose a problem, same with bows. Other than that I cannot think of anything in Oblivion that couldn't be ported forward into FNV. Meshes might be different but shouldn't be TOO different, armors and weapons are probably rigged up differently but not TOO differently. Stuff like that. If anyone got the wild hair to do this, I think it could be done.

It could be done, definitely.

It could be done, definitely. But you would have some issues to figure out (magic, etc.) if you wanted to play the oblivion main story and quests.

I'd love to see bows do

I'd love to see bows done properly in Fallout NV, maybe we'll have some better luck in FO4. Bows in games has become a thing even Battlefield has them.

Bows have a lot of practical

Bows have a lot of practical application in some circumstances, but arguments could be made for crossbows instead. Either way, if FO4 contains bows I wouldn't complain. And it may very well contain a crossbow considering the popularity of Walking Dead's Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and his crossbow. No evidence, just saying that it is a pop culture thing now to have crossbows in post apocalyptic settings.
