Lol, there's enough game in TTW for me to forego the difficulty aspect. I just wanna explore, and progress the story.
If I want difficulty, I boot up Super R-Type.

vats is my "ohshit" button. so i use it when i'm surprised and don't have time to think.
friend of mine's playing through xbox fo3 recently, and he uses it for everygoddamned thing though, which is weird and frustrating to watch.

I do not usually watch those "let's play" videos, but if he is making one it sure sounds boring:)
I use VATS a lot and I always have. In fact, I see it as one of the features that defines the game, much as bullet time for Max Payne or F.E.A.R.
That said, playing on hard with PN and RWED, it's actually quite painful to use VATS as the PC tends to get killed while doing so if not being very careful, so I've been meaning to use bullet time more, but it's apparently hard to teach an old dog new tricks as I always forget it during fights.
Rebind VATS to a different key and bullet time to that key.
I bind it to Q so I can hit it easily when needed, which isn't too often.
Is that breath mod still around ? I'd like to use that.
