Capital Wasteland reputations?

Post by iammax » Sun Feb 08, 2015 9:14 pm

I traded some stuff to Protector Casdin of the Brotherhood Outcasts, and to my surprise, I got an accepted rep with the Brotherhood Outcasts.

Anyone else in DC have this functionality?

I love how well the devs have integrated new vegas stuff like this in FO3, real kudos. I found a mojave dropbox on mothership zeta too, that made my day

That is the only "official" rep currently in game. There is a TTW_Reputations add on, but it is still under heavy development and thus a bit unstable. We are working on it though.

Cool, that's good to know.

I guess the planned factions reps would be places like "east coast brotherhood", "megaton", "tenpenny tower", "rivet city" etc

Sounds like a good idea, but maybe tricky to implement!

One problem is that a few factions are shared between NV and DC. I've heard getting a negative reputation with the Enclave (inevitable) in the TTW Reputations plugin will make the Enclave Remnants in DC, including Arcade Gannon, hostile. I had to remove myself from the Brotherhood of Steel after Broken Steel started to prevent NCR soldiers from attacking on the NV side.

That should be fixed and released already. What you describe isn't exactly especially hard. The hard part is how factions interact and how hard it is to achieve a reputation among that faction. More than one user of the alpha TTW_Reputations user has complained of becoming idolized in Megaton and then being shot on sight by Tenpenny Towers.

The issue with Broken Steel

Post by Woolie Wool » Wed Feb 11, 2015 2:47 pm

The issue with Broken Steel causing the NCR to consider you an enemy is definitely not fixed in 2.7.3, I ended up encountering the bug myself and fixing it by using "player.removefromfaction 1d3fe".

the really really hard part

the really really hard part is that fo3 used factions where fnv uses reps.  so instead of going up and down a scale of like/dislike on things, you'd just get added and removed from friendly and enemy factions.  so tracking down all of that interaction and converting it to rep is the giant PITA for the rep plugin.

@woolie wool, you using the rep optional plugin?

I was, I purged my negative Enclave rep after reading about issues with hostlity from Arcade and the Enclave Remnants, uninstalled the rep plugin, and removed it from my bashed patch.
