Technical Question about how radios work in TTW

Post by iammax » Mon Jan 26, 2015 9:37 pm

So I am using only one mod with TTW, this one.

http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/36835/?

I used it add all the songs from Mojave Music Radio into Radio New Vegas, because I don't really like that there are songs exclusive to each station. It seemed fine for a while. Then I went back to D.C., and when I got off the train, Radio New Vegas dissappeared (as I expected), so I started listening to GNR and it was fine. But as soon as I stop into the main train station building, GNR goes away, and the Mojave stations come back.

This happens even if I disable the mod in FOMM while my character's save is still in Vegas. However, I tried using the console to go directly from the train (in D.C.) to Megaton, since I thought maybe somehow, because the train station building is not a vanilla building, maybe it's missing some tag or something. That method seems to keep GNR there just fine.

So basically my question is, what exactly happens to the radios when you take the train? Am I right in thinking it simply hides/reveals the proper ones from the list?

It does some checking on

It does some checking on quests to determine which radios it should switch on/off but yeah, that's basically all it does. Are you using NVSE?

Did you do the quest to

Did you do the quest to repair the GNR dish yet? I believe there are issues with how that stuff adding static to it and lower range is handled in TTW resulting in no GNR where there should be GNR with static playing pre-repair quest.

Might be unrelated, what do I know :P

NVSE is built into FOMM, I believe, so yes I am using that. And I fixed GNR's dish.

By the way, before I used

By the way, before I used this mod, the radio worked fine even in the train station, so I'm sure that's probably the cause of it, I'm just curious as to why it would happen even with the mod removed. Originally I thought the mod maybe adds a new radio station (with the same name, Radio New Vegas) to the radio list and that would be somehow over-riding TTW's commands to change the radio stations, but even with the mod gone, it happens. But it seems to happen only in the train station (I only tested that a little, though)
