First time in the deep end

Post by Volgair » Sun Oct 19, 2014 1:52 pm

Hey guys, been about a year since my last FO play through, thought I would do something different this time round. While this is not my first time moding fallout, this definitely is the most I have tried to do with it. I am admittedly still a novice and not certain if what I am trying to do is possible.

A couple things I am here asking for before I jump in. Suggestions for mods that fit what I am trying to do, Load order, a heads-up on possible conflicts. Any input is appreciated. Mods I have not used in a play through marked with an asterisk (*).

Intention: Overhaul the gameplay for increased functionality while also making the game more difficult and engaging. Make the game look as good and as possible while still running stable.

Content/Gear

  • TTW*

  • WMX* + Compatibility w/ EVE, PN, TTW

Overhaul

  • PN* + Compatibility w/ WMX, EVE, Jsawyer, TTW

  • J Sawyer + Compatibility w/ PN, EVE, TTW

  • EVE*  + Compatibility w/ PN, WMX, Jsawyer, TTW

Visual

  • NMC* (followed Roybatty's guide) + redwood and burnt fence

  • Old World ENB* (Still looking for one that is compatible with the above that fits my taste a little better.)

  • Nevada Skies TTW edition

Stability/SE

  • NVSE

  • 4GB

  • NVAC

Again still new to this, any input is appreciated. Thanks for your time in advance.

for increased difficulty, you could look at TJ's Panzer Mod.  although that might turn it from "pleasantly challenging" to "oh god, a mole rat killed me!".

for increased functionality, you might check around to see what quirky mods people have put together to get around game bottlenecks.  they might be a little more OP than you'd like, like my better breaching mod tends to make lockpicking way too easy pretty soon, but with some temperance on your own playstyle and/or some simple modding abilities, you can make it not seem quite so bad.

perms:  either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.

For visual I have a suggestion...

Shameless own mod publicity warning! I suggest using my mod "Reading is Learning", it changes the boring book and magazine covers for nice and prettier covers, allows to use MCM to change a lot of options, randomizes books and magazines (based on the LUCK attribute) and more!

Very nice thank you both, going to go ahead and get this pack moving along. Really hope this works out, I have wanted a lot of what these mods offer for a long time. Cheers.

Also I am looking for a mod that allows you to smoke, that is also compatible with TTW? I know of one but I am not sure if it will work. While I don't expect that my character will be a smoker, or a junkie of any kind for that matter. I always thought that all those cigarette's needed a purpose beyond vender trash. Hell the NPC's do it, so the thought had to cross Bethesda's/ Obsidians's minds before they added the animation.
