TTW + PNevada = insane difficulty?

Post by AngelJewCake93 » Mon Sep 22, 2014 7:57 pm

I just completed a runthrough of NV with Project Nevada. Now I'm doing TTW with PNevada, starting out in FO3's storyline (with growing up and the GOAT,etc). I got out of Vault 101 and have been in Megaton for a few hours now, andI have to say this is REALLY hard for me. In both cases, I'm playing Hardcore difficulty.

One of the things is that enemies don't drop very much ammo. I know that you can increase this in the settings, but I'd like to do it on PNevada's default settings for a challenge.

Also, Moira Brown (the general merchant in Megaton) never sells ammo. After about 4 hours in, just TRYING to survive, I've come up with plenty of cash (about 1300 caps), but she doesn't sell any more ammo, nor does she really restock her other supplies, like weapons, health items, etc.

It's very fun, it's just that it seems like I'm digging myself a hole, and eventually I'll run out of stuff to eat, ammo to kill with, and eventually I'll get myself stuck from being starved, dehydrated, and irradiated (spelling?) considering those things.

What do you guys think?

I had this same experience.

I had this same experience.  I had to use the PN rebalance module settings in the mod configuration menu to increase ammo drops.  Otherwise there's just too little ammo, and you need to make a lot of trips all over the wasteland to exhaust every vendor.  Or you can remove the PN effect that lengthens how long it takes for vendors to restock.

Or you can use melee weapons more, and use reloading benches more, which is probably what would happen in a 'real life' wasteland scenario I guess.

Risewild says: "Real men punch things and people!"

Now without joking, I always play vanilla TTW and I see no problems like those (but I play melee or unarmed lately), so I believe that Thermador suggestions might help since it seem that it is PN that is making things so scarce.

You have to pay close

You have to pay close attention to what weapon you are using against what enemy and also what ammo type.

Also as rise said, don't waste ammo on weak opponents especially.

+1 on recharger rifle, with PN there is no beating the recharger rifle/pistol, even at higher levels it can still be viable due to the way PN restricts extra HP from level.

I am going the melee weapon route, and if I find rechargeable weapons, I'll not complain.
