Short question regarding TTW

Post by satchboogie » Wed Jun 25, 2014 10:36 am

Hey there,

Long time lurker from the TESRenewal side of things here. I found out about this project through that one.

Before I install this, I have a simple question to ask to people who have played with it :)

If I:

- love Fallout 3's world and combat against Super Mutants a lot.

- prefer New Vegas's difficulty and take on weaponry(especially unique weapons and ammo types.)

Is this then, the right modification for me? :)

In other words: is it worth running this modification even if I just plan on staying in the Capital Wasteland? Does it truly add that New Vegas feel to combat to the Fallout 3 world?

I'm usually torn between F3 and F:NV, prefering the world of the first, and the mechanics/DLC's of the second by a mile(except Broken Steel, which I dig.)

TL;DR: Compared to a vanilla F3 playthrough, how does a TTW playthrough of F3 feel?

Thanks for taking the time to read/answer, and keep on fighting the good fight!

It feels like playing Fallout

It feels like playing Fallout 3 in the New Vegas Engine. Something I also welcomed as I did not like the combat mechanics in Fallout 3 either. I say go for it as it's probably what you desire.

Yop!

Instead of trying to explain what TTW is, i would say:

Check this: http://taleoftwowastelands.com/content/faq#whatisttw

Happy reading

Video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock'n'roll...

Thanks for the link :) I've already read that FAQ a few times, actually! But a FAQ can't tell me the feel of a game, I guess. Thats why I posted my question, which, I admit, might be a little vague.

I think I will go ahead and install this.

Are F:NV's unique weapons also found on vendors or locations in the Capital Wasteland? I presume not? :)

As for feel, what you are

As for feel, what you are describing is exactly what the team strives for. Preserving the spirit of FO3 while implementing the mechanics of FNV.

And no, NV uniques are not available anywhere in DC.

you also have access to NV

you also have access to NV perks, so although looting different ammo types won't happen much in DC, you can make them with handloader and any other NV ammo mods you use.

perms:  either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.
