When I reinstalled things I skipped Fo3, because I lost the disk. Should I check it for errors, because I don't want to uninstall if I can avoid doing so.
BTW guides for TESedit said cleaning was safe, is it different with Fallout?

Short answer: Yes, never clean Fallout core files, it will break things.
I'm going to look for the disk and reinstall Fo3. This time I won't clean them.

Had the same problem in my modded FO3 game [NOT TTW'd, just FO3]
Don't know if its a vanilla game glitch or not, I no longer play unmodded Fallouts.
I solved the problem by talking to Wilkes a second time, immediately AFTER CLOSING the dialogue box when the option to help him didn't show up during our first conversation.
It then gave me a dialogue option to APOLOGIZE for being mean to him, and after I said I was sorry, the dialogue option to look for his dad was available.
Did this on 2 different plays, using 5 different save files [3 were from before my first meeting/talking to Wilkes, 2 were after not seeing the option show up when I did].
I originally thought I had borked my files/saves and the quest had been corrupted.
Not the case. WHY did this happen? Dunno...but it worked for me.
Good Luck
Thanks for the information, kinda kills the flow, but a fix is a fix.

I've been having the same problem regarding Wilks, and I think I've found the culprit. With TTW_fixes installed, the dialogue is messed up. If uninstalled, the dialogue works fine. I can literally save right before talking to Wilks, get the skippped dialogue, uninstall TTW_fixes, reload that save, and the dialogue is exactly as it should be.
Let me ask you guys something... are you playing Female characters?
If so I think I have found the issue.

I am. My current playthrough is based on a female character I made for an original story. Is the gender basis the issue?
