What mods go well with TTW?

Post by Cannibal_Kon » Sat Dec 21, 2013 9:42 pm

Before I even ask the question related to the Subject of this topic I just want to say I wasn't sure if I should put this here or in the "Mod Talk" Forum. If I put it in the wrong Forum please feel free to move it wherever it should go. I wasn't entirely sure where it would go. You may remember me from when I posted asking about the compatibility of Fallout 3 with Windows 7 and such and I just bought Fallout 3 today and have been modding my New Vegas a lot since I finally got them on PC (I have hundreds of hours on both games for consoles). I was wanting to use this mod for a while and after finally getting to the winter sale on steam I got it. Now since I have modded quite a bit in New Vegas I have FOMM and know the basics of working with it and having problems with mods like the Readius; so I was wondering what mods you guys think would compliment this mod and add to the experience. I plan on uninstalling all of my mods and restarting everything so don't worry about conflicts. I was wanting advice from people who have experience with the mod and mods that work with this. What do you guys think works well?

P.S. I apologize if I seem to ramble a bit, I'm not the best at telling if I jump around in conversation.

I've heard about PN a little but I'm not entirely sure what it's about. Would you mind if I asked for a rough summary?

Project Nevada is pretty much

Project Nevada is pretty much a big overhaul/immersion mod. It changes balancing and several other things, most of these are configurable via Mod Configuration Menu, if you prefer other settings. It's quite a good mod. Also any mod that integrates DLC weapons into wasteland loot lists is a must for me. (I mean why should only Zion tribals have 1911's ?)

I did a little bit of research and those look cool. I might try some of them too.

Now comes where I decide what I want to keep and throw away since I like immersive mods.

Step 1: Read the FAQ - there

Post by thermador » Sun Dec 22, 2013 1:48 am

Step 1: Read the FAQ - there are a lot of recommended mods listed and described there, including a large number of FNV mods and how to install popular FO3 mods: http://taleoftwowastelands.com/content/faq#installingmods

Step 2: Search our site - there have been a lot of threads like this.  This thread is pretty recent and has a lot of good discussion / links: http://taleoftwowastelands.com/content/inquiry-dev-team-mods-they

Step 3: Check out the Mod Releases Forum for TTW-specific mods: http://taleoftwowastelands.com/forums/tale-two-wastelands-mod-releases

Step 4: After all that, if you still can't find enough mods, go to FNV nexus and start browsing: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/

I've done all Steps but Step

Post by Cannibal_Kon » Sun Dec 22, 2013 3:12 am

I've done all Steps but Step 2. I was more wanting personal preference from people who've been using this mod for a while now.

After a lot more

After a lot more investigation into the threads you linked Thermador I do want to say thanks, I hadn't seen the opinions thread and while I was wanting more of the entire community opinion it did give me some details on things so thank you!
