Trouble starting first quest in Capital Wasteland

Post by Colin1224 » Fri Feb 22, 2013 10:06 pm

So I'm hours into the New Vegas campaign and I just installed TTW, I went on the train to DC and then went to Megaton. But I cant get the first quest to start were you talk to Colin M and ask him about your dad. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I have seen forum posts where people start their game in the Capital Wasteland and then later travel to New Vegas and wake up at Doc Michel's house, and I don't know how to do that.

You have to start a new game

You have to start a new game to be able to play through Capital Wasteland. if you use a save from New Vegas, you won't be able to do any CW main story quests.

Think about it, you never even met your father haha.

To enable the quest you can

To enable the quest you can try hacking Moriarty Terminal, or maybe talk to Lucas Sims (not really sure).

To start in the capital wasteland you need to start a new game cheeky.

Risewild is correct about

Risewild is correct about using Moriarty's terminal. As wonderfully immersive as growing up in the vault is, I don't have the patience to do it more than once a year.

Trm8r, I think someone

Trm8r, I think someone uploaded a save file from right before exiting the vault. It includes all items you can get, the bobblehead, and it still allows the player to edit tag skills, perks, name, face, SPECIAL. If you don't want to go through with all of that, the save file would be right up your alley.

The save file is a nice addition, but I should have said that I start in Vegas.

As of now a New Vegas start

Post by chucksteel » Mon Feb 25, 2013 5:18 pm

As of now a New Vegas start in not currently supported so you'll have some issues and, have to find workarounds to get the quests working. We will be opening up the option of which wasteland you would like to begin with in future updates.

For now we are testing from DC to NV once all of the major bugs are found and, fixed we will test in the other direction.
