Is it safe to compress the New Vegas Folder to create free disk space. I have a 111 gigabyte ssd that i run the games on and i'm constantly running with only a few gigs of space or so available at any given time. The NV folder for me is 30 something gigs in size and then i have the os installed on it as well. Or is there any fallout files i can routinely get rid of aside from mods that will free up space. say in the games folder.

Compressing with windows won
Compressing with windows won't help much because most of the big files are already in bsa's and pretty good compressed. Also it would reduce your loading time in games which can lead to problems. It isn't a good idea. I still run NV from my good old 7200rpm harddisk and don't have any troubles. Maybe this would be a better idea.

If i end up doing a reload i've thought of looking into that. I have a terabyte mechanical in the computer aswell that is being used for things like my downloads folder and i think my games, i'd have to check.
