My Lone Courier's Adventure and a Thank You

Post by lotoran » Wed Nov 04, 2015 3:00 am

I started this adventure "way back" in February of this year and boy has it been a wild ride. I don't know what possessed me, but I got a fever, and the only prescription was more Fallout. :P

I'm not one for (too) many words, but I just wanted to say thank you to the team who put this incredible mod together. You guys were the cornerstone of making this playthrough the best one I've ever had in either Fallout 3 or New Vegas. Really, thank you for all your hard work.

In my playthrough, my Lone Wanderer (and one day Courier) began her journey by the name of Aliyah. She grew up in Vault 101 and was a relatively happy girl. That is until the fateful day her father left the Vault... but we all know the story. I played on very hard and hardcore and I had my build planned out from the beginning. I had picked or will pick every trait or perk that would fluctuate stats. I picked the traits Early Bird, claustrophobia (I guess she didn't want to go back in the Vault, lol), hot blooded (yes I cheated a little :P) and eventually picked up perks that did similar things. I wanted to do things this way so I had to be tactical about when and where I picked fights, because I wasn't always at my best... especially indoors at night. And let me tell you, it was a very fun and challenging playthrough. Also, to up the immesion, I would put off any mutation-like perks until after I started Mothership Zeta (to simulate whatever they do to your character) and I would put off any implant/cyborg perk until I started Old World Blues. Also, Nuclear Anomaly is utterly useless on Very Hard, wowee.  :P

Now, because my character was getting sleep every night like a normal person (eh, kinda got lax at the end and indulged on caffeine a bit), I was curious as to how the timeline for my character's adventure would go. So, I decided to keep track. Now I didn't always remember to write things down, so despite me doing every DLC and darn near every quest, the log will have gaps, but here it is anyway. I hope you enjoy!

Fallout 3

08-17-77: Escaped from vault, found megaton. Began the search for Dad.

9-27-77: Reunited with Dad at Vault 112.

02-12-78: Abducted by aliens and experimented on... great.

02-28-78: Having saved the Capital wasteland from the Enclave and other threats, left west to explore new lands

New Vegas

10-31-81:Found and killed Benny. Recovering the Platinum chip. Also began a quest for an Independent Vegas with Yes Man.

02-25-82: Having helped the tribes of Zion fight off the White Legs, returned to the Mojave

04-03-82: Returned from Big MT, now more than human

04-27-82: Mr. House is disconnected from his system. Due to infection, he has at most one year to live.

05-10-82: Entered the Divide.

05-13-82: Reached the Divide.

05-26-82: Returned from the Divide having met with Ulysses and came to an understanding.

05-31-82: The Second Battle of Hoover Dam is concluded with the Courier defeating the Legate Lanius and pushing both the Legion and NCR out of the Mojave with a Securitron army. Independence is achieved and a new nation is born.

And finally, some endgame stats for those who would be curious. I know they won't be as impressive as some people's, but I'm proud of 'em nonetheless.

all that documentation and you didn't remember to write down when you got the Pimpboy 3 billion?

also, thank you for enjoying it, that's really the best part of the whole thing, that people can play it and have fun.

perms:  either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.

Just for you I went back

Post by lotoran » Wed Nov 04, 2015 6:24 am

Just for you I went back through my saves (5 minutes load time each to load all the awesome history) to try and find out when I got the Pimp-Boy 3 Million.  :D

I remember the moment distinctly... mostly because one of my mods probably messed something up and I couldn't put it on. Used the console to remove the normal Pip-Boy from my inventory first, then it worked.

It's somewhere between 4-25 at 3:20am (save #0111 funny enough) and 4-27 at 5:36pm (in sneak mode, staring at the console to get to Mr. House's secret chamber, lol). So, basically I went shopping just before making the final decision to unplug the House. Don't worry, he's not dead. My character plans on overcharging one of those Mothership Zeta healing rings and seeing if that does anything. He'd make a great adviser. :P

Only 6 months from exiting

Post by dekjo » Wed Nov 04, 2015 6:04 pm

Only 6 months from exiting the vault to saving the Capital Wasteland. Wow, that makes me feel so unproductive! If only I could level up my skills in real life as quickly as the Lone Wanderer. :D

Thanks for sharing, I love this kind of stuff.
