Best Shot Made in TTW w/o VATS

Post by Computerrock1 » Wed Apr 24, 2013 11:21 pm

I made this thread so we could all bask in our awesomeness and post thoughts on our best shots fired outside of vats and what made it so epic.

For me it would have to be the time I shot a raider's grenade as he lobbed it into the air, I managed to snipe it from a distance, causing it to explode right atop a vehicle which then exploded, causing a chain of explosions from all the cars around it, killing all the raiders for a good two blocks... This is also how chuck norris managed to defeat an army with one bullet :P

Not quite in the same vein,

Post by TJ » Thu Apr 25, 2013 2:58 pm

Not quite in the same vein, but I like pulling extreme range headshots... With an unmodded 9.

Another unrelated question for anyone that can answer it. Can you vats your own grenade in midair? I'll check when I get home if no one knows..

My project Dash is on Kickstarter!

I've never hit a grenade in

Post by TrickyVein » Fri Apr 26, 2013 2:17 pm

I've never hit a grenade in the air before. That would be pretty awesome.

I guess my most memorable would have to be with the .308 sniper rifle from the Anchorage War Memorial, across the Potomac and centered on a raider sitting down at a table right outside of Grandma Sparkle's shack at Wilhem's Wharf.

You know how the sniper rifle pulls up and to the left when you squeeze the trigger? You have to get a feel for how much you have to correct your aim with distance - and I don't remember what my gun skill was at the time, but of course you also have to correct for weapon wobble when looking through the scope.

Well I pulled off a clean shot - blew his head to pieces - and his body didn't move from where he was sitting. It was the craziest thing. I made my way across the Potomac and there sat the raider, still at the table. Only now without a head.

Just today, I was exploring

Post by rbroab » Sun Apr 28, 2013 5:08 am

Just today, I was exploring the Mojave and noticed I was about to come up on a Powder Ganger camp. I took out my Holorifle and used the scope to see if I could snipe one out. Upon zooming in, I found 4 Powder Gangers all mashed together in the same spot. All spinning around, but none of them could leave the spot. It should also be noted that I have the Meltdown perk. After one shot, there was a huge explosion. I was actually hit with a whiskey bottle, a few pots and pans flew across the desert in all directions, and 4 ash piles littered the hill side.

The only other amazing kill I ever had was a bit before I came to TTW. I was headed for Camp Golf and noticed about 15 npcs all grouped up. They were 15 NCR soldiers all standing in one of the lookout platforms. Naturally, I used a stealth boy and placed a plasma grenade in the pocket of the soldier who appeared to be most centered. In the few seconds I had left, I backed up and watched as limbs rained down for a short while and bodies stacked up.

I'm not alright, I'm an equal amount of left.

I downloaded the Kar98 Scoped

I downloaded the Kar98 Scoped mod from the New Vegas Nexus and cleared out the entire Lincoln Memorial using long-ranged super fun sniper tactics. One by one, each slaver's head popped off, and all they could do were run around like chickens without their head.

Greatest snipe I ever pulled

Post by Kainschylde » Tue May 07, 2013 2:16 am

Greatest snipe I ever pulled was in NV. I was on the ridge above the NCR portion of Primm. I was using the USMC M200, only had 15 gun skill, so the sucker was wobbling like mad. Zoomed in on one of the convicts out front of Beagles shack, with the distance and the wobble my aim was swinging between Beagles front door and the gas station. I knew I had no chance, but I waited, timed my shot, and took a chance as my sights slid across the guy. Wasn't even trying for a special shot, just wanted to hit the guy.

Hit the stick of dynamite on his hip, took a car and 2 other guys with him.

Greatest legit snipe I made:

Post by KennyMcCormick » Thu May 09, 2013 3:52 am

Greatest legit snipe I made: First time I did the quest wherein you deal with Joe Cobb and his cronies. I pulled a Railway rifle out and jetpacked up onto the roof of the Prospector Saloon. As soon as they showed up on my radar I started firing. First shot hit Joe in the face.

Most hilarious snipe I made: On my most recent playthrough I'm carrying an Obnoxious Cicada. I had just killed off the two raiders across the river from the Super Duper Mart and got the two mutant spawns. I started opening up with the OC, and after two shots, I was laughing so hard I could barely see what I was shooting at. You guys really should grab that thing, it's great for a laugh or three.
