A random thought, and a suggestion for save bloat and load times

Post by burstdragon323 » Sun Jun 25, 2017 9:01 pm

So, I don't know the ins and outs of the game's guts, but I had a random thought, and a suggestion based on a Fallout 4 mod I read about.

Load Times Suggestion: Would it be possible to set the game to remove resolved quests from the Pip-Boy either immediately or after X number of hours/days? At least for me, there is a slight delay when I use that tab due to how full it is, and I was thinking on how it might be useful if the list could be "cleaned" over time

Save Bloat Suggestion: I was reading around and learned of a Fallout 4 mod that apparently helps with save bloat by keeping NPCs from dropping their weapons when they die. They weren't gone, just only lootable from the interface to reduce on ground clutter.

Lastly, I also read that YUP has a script that cleans up ash piles and goo piles after time elapses, is this true?

The pipboy delays can be

The pipboy delays can be solved by reading our performance guide and enabling the NVSE initial heap expansion (sheson memory patch).

Save bloat due to weapons dropping is total nonsense. Fallout 3/NV do not suffer from the duplication bug from Skyrim/Fallout 4 even if it wasn't.

The ash and goo piles are supposed to be cleaned up by the game, but are not. YUP and TTWFixes has this fix and it is retro-active. TTW 3.0 will also include a fix for this. It will not cause save bloat, they are just annoying to look at.

1) Thought I had that enabled.... huh. Guess my NVSE glitched or something.

2) Ok Roy, it was just something I read about bloat. Thanks for correcting me about it.

3) Gotcha.
