Should regulators have more consistent gear with talon mercs?

Post by Question » Thu Aug 20, 2015 2:33 am

I just noticed that while Talon company mercs (specifically the hit squad) goes from 13 DT to 17 DT to 20 DT (no headgear), the regulators jump from 17 DT to 20 DT. The tier 1 regulator seems to have a 50% chance of either having the unarmored duster or the 17 DT duster.

Wouldnt it be a better idea to have the tier 1 regulator spawn with a 13 DT duster instead? Instead of 50% chance of having very high DT for their spawn level or a 50% chance of having almost no DT?

The regulator armors also make them much better than talon mercs since they get +1 per, +5 crit and +5 guns. I think they should have roughly equal equipment.

I also noticed that the leader of the hit squads are set to boss level, which by default is 2x the player level. So at level 7, that spawns the tier 3 regulator/talon merc as the hit squad leader with the 20 DT armor and potentially a skill level 100 weapon (brush guns, marksman carbines, etc). This might be a bit much at level 7? I think it would be better to set the hit squad leader to hard difficulty instead of boss difficulty since it's not such a huge jump in equipment.

The talon company was recently re-done, the same needs to be done with the regulators, it is worth mentioning that there are special considerations: even evil characters will run into Talon Co more often than the Regulators, so that is an argument for them having slightly better gear

everyone runs into talon company.  the regulators don't hold bases in DC.

Same here. What is most annoying about them to me is the forced and useless dialogue choices you have to go through prior to the inevitable battle.

What is so annoying about it? The dialogue only happens once. And it isnt even that long. Doesnt sound like something worth complaining about, honestly.

It happens in almost every encounter for me. Instead of just attacking, they force-greet you with their silly trash talk.  That said, I probably am more annoyed than most by any of those forced dialogue situations, whether it is Malcolm Holmes, Tomas and Jaclyn, Mr. Holdout, Victoria Watts, or Bryan Wilks.
