Mutfruit marinade increases confidence? Whuzzat?

Post by Bottletopman » Fri Jan 27, 2017 2:21 pm

Figured this would be the most appropriate section to post in - While tweaking some stuff in the GECK I noticed that mutfruit marinade increases confidence for 2 mins - what is this? The only confidence I know in the game is the one that determines how likely an NPC is to run away from threats.

Do you have the right GECK?

Do you have the right GECK? It doesn't do any such thing here. It increases Charisma for 2 minutes.

Actually I think the confidence in the description is related to your followers and your ability to pass some speech and barter checks. Since this is ruled by charisma and the edible raises your charisma by 2, wich means +4 points for those skills and 10% more companion nerve, it's a huge boost.

I'm playing a explosives + melee nut courier/wanderer and since I don't need higher luck or crits, my luck is at 5, but my charisma is pretty high, at 7.

Clover is literally kicking ass against anything except deathclaws and reavers. Oh, the AI... :(

I'm using the latest NV GECK, taking a look via FNVEdit it seems like it was part of the taleoftwowastelands.esm plugin.

I considered the possibility that it actually dealt with companion nerve but found it a bit odd that they wouldn't just call it that instead.

I don't know what you're looking at, but it's not Confidence here. You must have edited it on accident.

I've only just within the last week installed the latest TTW and I haven't touched any plugins as yet and I too have this ingestible providing Confidence in addition to the Charisma that @RoyBatty is showing.

Project Nevada TTW also has it this way.

Post by Risewild » Sat Jan 28, 2017 10:40 am

For some reason TTW 2.9.4b does have the marinade giving 1 confidence. For some reason this does not happen in TTW 3.0 (which is what the team members are using at the moment while making it ready for release).

I have no idea why that was there in the last public version, my guess was that it was put there by accident.

I don't remember changing it

I don't remember changing it either... just remove it. It doesn't do anything anyways so it's safe to ignore.

I've added a little reminder about this to the Project Nevada - TTW patch page also.

Easy enough for any new users to remove it manually until such time a team member can update that download.
