Lever action rifle fire rate

Post by Creamy Raccoon » Fri Jul 24, 2015 3:03 am

I just started playing ttw and I just made to super duper mart.  One of the raiders there has a lever action rifle and the fire rate on it is stupidly fast. The dps is 175 and the base damage is 35 and it instantly kills me.  I poked around in FNVEdit and the stats haven't been modified or anything.  If anyone has suggestions I'd appreciate it.

What mod manager are you

What mod manager are you using, we might be able to help you find a sorted load order so we can verify it's not a known mod interaction.

Now, the lever action rifle, is that the 10mm one from Point Lookout? Because I didn't think TTW distributed those in DC, so it may be a mod doing it.

Either way, we know it shoots stupid fast, there is a reason, I'll research and post back.

OK figured it out. In FO3 it had a fire speed of 1.2s per round. All FNV level action rifles have around 0.6s per round. The TTW Lever action rifle fires at a whopping .3s per round. It may have been a balance choice (and if so it needs to be rethought) or it could be an oversight. Will look into it. Thanks for the report.

I'm thinking the issue might be mod related... Although I'm finding Lever Action Rifles distributed throughout the Wasteland, my guns skill is 100 and the DPS is 120 and the Damage is 71. Seems to be firing at a normal rate for me...

But the document you uploaded is mostly alphabetized save for a few mods...Do you have a version of the order you're playing with?

I'm not alright, I'm an equal amount of left.

I threw this together in

Post by JaxFirehart » Tue Jul 28, 2015 4:53 pm

I threw this together in FNVEdit just now. I reduce the fire time somewhat drastically, and decreased the spread to match the other lever action rifles in NV.

The PL Lever Action Rifle (LAR) is the only 50 skill Lever action rifle. It has the lowest fire rate and its damage sits between the skill 25 and skill 75 lever action rifles. Where it really shines is its crit mult. In vanilla FO3 it had x5 crit mult, so I left it at that. The skill 25 lever action rifle has slightly lower burst damage, nearly double DPS, but the LAR has that massive crit mult and so shines in the hands of a crit build character.

Check it out, tell me what you think.
