Re: Operation: Anchorage Requisitions

You don't know me, but I've been modding in the background for some time now.

I didn't know where to put this, because it's not really an independent "mod" per se, more a comment with a kludged fix attached to it.

I did this mostly because I was bored and I'm kind of anal-retentive about my games.

EDIT: I have made a new version that corrects the Requisition Chit counter, as the original modder described below.

Unlocked "Clear Requisitions" Button

So, I've been using TTW for about a week now, and I gotta say that I'm very impressed with the work you guys have done so far. That being said, I did encounter something that tripped a pet peeve of mine in the Operation Anchorage customization addon: Namely, the fact that the new requisition system (which is AWESOME, by the way) did not allow you to redo your requisition selections if you screwed them up somehow.

[collapsed title="Tech Details"]

I know now that this is by design - the "Clear Requisitions" item is not shown if DLC02OA3 ("Paving The Way") is not completed, in addition to some weird comparator flag that I did not fully understand. (It compared the number of requisition credits to a Global that was set to NONE. I didn't get it. If a more experienced modder could explain this to me, I would be very grateful.)

[/collapse]

I realize this is a really tiny thing in the grand scheme of things, but I did kludge a simple workaround if anybody wants it. Note that this does not replace the existing TTWAnchorageCustomization.esp - it is an addon to this addon. As such, it can be merged into whatever you need it to be merged into.

I have done extremely minimal testing with this.

Known Issues:

  • If you have the Quartermaster reissue your equipment without having used the Requisition Terminal, you will be given ammo but no weapons. To fix this, just go back into the Command Tent and re-use the Requisition Terminal

  • There is also an occasional crash when the Quartermaster issues your equipment, regardless of whether you used the Requisition Terminal before talking to him or not. Frankly, this could be caused by a myriad of issues that may not be related to this simple edit. I've only gotten it once, so I'm inclined to think that it's not critical.

In Addition: Possible WME/WMX Extension?

I was also thinking about extending the OA Custom Requisitions system to support either WME or WMX mods, in addition to the vanilla mods. Thoughts?

that weird comparator is "getitemcount TTWDL02ReqChits < TTWDLC02Chits", or in plainer english, "this only shows up if the number of requisition chip misc items in the inventory is less than the global used to track the maximum number of chits available", and TTWDLC02Chits (the global) is set to 150 by default -- and can be raised by either convincing the quartermaster to give you better gear or hacking his computer for better gear.

since the global referenced is also used for handing out your requisition chits, if it wasn't set up already, then you wouldn't be able to craft anything from the requisition terminal.

if you'd like more technical info on the mod, inbox me, i'm the last person to work on it.

Thanks very much for replying. I edited the file to re-add that flag, so that it doesn't show up if you already have 150, but that you can always use it regardless of how far into the quest you are.

One thing I noticed on my last playthrough of Anchorage is that it seems the rewards have been tweaked so that some of the top end gear you got in the vanilla version does not appear as a reward anymore.  Instead, you get whatever items you requisitioned with the new requisition system.  The gauss gun for example is gone unless you actually take one in the simulation.  So I would recommend waiting til you have either the hacking or speech skills needed to unlock the bonus stuff in the requisition system.

@gazastripclub:  that's because the entire requisition system is run by opening the requisition crafting menu on that dead npc, so if he doesn't have any chits, then there's no ingredients for the craft menu.  and he shouldn't have slid into the tent at all, he's located on top of it.

@khumak: what?  we don't touch the vss armory with this.

the plugin in question is one of the many things we're updating currently, so it'll be tweaked by the next TTW update.
